Disassembling the Slide
To disassemble the slide, follow these steps:
1. Hold the slide grip with your non-dominant hand and pull the slide to the rear until it locks open.
2. Rotate the barrel bushing clockwise until it is fully unscrewed.
3. Carefully pull the barrel forward and out of the slide.
4. Rotate the recoil spring plug clockwise until it is fully unscrewed.
5. Remove the recoil spring plug, recoil spring, and guide rod from the slide.
Removing the Firing Pin Assembly
To remove the firing pin assembly, follow these steps:
- Depress the firing pin safety located on the left side of the slide.
- Carefully lift the firing pin assembly out of the slide.
Note: Be cautious when removing the firing pin assembly as it is under spring tension.
Removing the Extractor
To remove the extractor, follow these steps:
- Depress the extractor pin located on the left side of the slide.
- Extract the extractor from the slide.
Note: The extractor spring may fly out when the extractor is removed. Be sure to retrieve it.
Disassembling the Frame
To disassemble the frame, follow these steps:
1. Remove the slide.
Retract the slide fully to the rear and lift it up slightly. Tilt the slide forward and pull it off the frame.
2. Remove the recoil spring and guide rod.
Grasp the recoil spring assembly by the knurled end and pull it straight out of the frame.
3. Remove the barrel.
Tilt the barrel up and pull it forward to remove it from the frame.
4. Remove the trigger group.
Insert a small punch into the hole located behind the trigger and push forward to release the trigger group. Pull the trigger group straight down to remove it from the frame.
**Tip:** Before removing the trigger group, it is recommended to first remove the magazine release and slide stop.
5. Remove the grip panels.
Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the slot located at the bottom of the grip panel. Pry the grip panel up and off the frame. Repeat for the other grip panel.
6. Remove the frame pin.
Use a punch to drive out the frame pin located at the top of the grip frame. This will separate the frame into two pieces.
Disassembling the Trigger
The next step is to remove the trigger. The trigger is held in place by a spring-loaded pin. To remove the trigger, use a small screwdriver or punch to depress the spring-loaded pin. Once the pin is depressed, the trigger can be removed.
The trigger assembly consists of several components, including the trigger, trigger spring, and trigger housing. To remove the trigger assembly, it is necessary to disassemble these components.
To remove the trigger spring, depress the spring with a small screwdriver or punch. Once the spring is depressed, the trigger can be removed from the trigger housing.
To remove the trigger housing, use a small screwdriver or punch to remove the screw that secures the trigger housing to the frame. Once the screw is removed, the trigger housing can be lifted off the frame.
The trigger assembly can now be disassembled. To remove the trigger, use a small screwdriver or punch to depress the spring-loaded pin. Once the pin is depressed, the trigger can be removed from the trigger assembly.
To remove the trigger spring, depress the spring with a small screwdriver or punch. Once the spring is depressed, the trigger can be removed from the trigger assembly.
To remove the trigger housing, use a small screwdriver or punch to remove the screw that secures the trigger housing to the frame. Once the screw is removed, the trigger housing can be lifted off the frame.
Component | Removal Procedure |
---|---|
Trigger | Depress spring-loaded pin and remove trigger |
Trigger spring | Depress spring and remove trigger |
Trigger housing | Remove screw and lift off frame |
Removing the Hammer
To remove the hammer, begin by removing the grip panels by unscrewing the screws on the back of the grip. Next, drift out the roll pin that holds the hammer in place using a punch. Once the roll pin is removed, carefully remove the hammer by pulling it straight up. Be careful not to lose the hammer spring, which will be under tension.
With the hammer removed, you can now access the sear and trigger assembly. To remove the sear, drift out the roll pin that holds it in place. The trigger can be removed by pushing out the trigger pin from the left side of the frame.
To reassemble the hammer, simply reverse the disassembly procedure. Insert the hammer into the frame and align it with the hammer spring. Slide the roll pin back into place to secure the hammer. Next, insert the sear and trigger into the frame and secure them with their respective roll pins. Finally, reattach the grip panels to complete the assembly.
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | Remove the grip panels. |
2 | Drift out the roll pin that holds the hammer in place. |
3 | Remove the hammer by pulling it straight up. |
4 | Drift out the roll pin that holds the sear in place. |
5 | Remove the sear. |
6 | Push out the trigger pin from the left side of the frame. |
7 | Remove the trigger. |
